There has been a wonderful surge of warmer weather in Apex, North Carolina of late; and it’s starting to feel like spring again in the Triangle. Some flowers and trees have started blooming, and stores are swapping out winter clothes for summer trends. While this is a great time to take advantage of that winter collection, it is also the best time to kick your Fit for Life 24 workout into high gear! Remember, spring break and warm weather vacations are just around the corner. Getting in shape isn’t just about the physique; it’s about feeling good, too.
Enjoy your most-confident spring break yet with these three tips of motivation because getting in shape is what it is all about at Fit for Life 24 in Apex:
- Get motivated: Many Apex and Triangle residents are goal-oriented. Goals aren’t just for school and work, though! Feeling a slump in motivation at the gym? Sign up for a 5K. This is the perfect time of year to participate in an outdoor competition, so check out the races scheduled across the Triangle. These races help a variety of causes, so sign up to stay fit and help others while doing it. Need extra motivation? Invite co-workers to participate, and get competitive with your workout. Trainers at Fit for Life 24 in Apex are qualified to help members make the most of these experiences.
- Spring clean that workout routine: Fitting exercise into one’s routine is very important. If members at Fit for Life 24 are tired of the same-old, same-old; invite a friend to the gym or join a group fitness class. Make this time exciting by getting social or challenging friends to a new class or piece of equipment at the gym. Members are amazed at the results when their bodies are given new challenges. Be sure to consult a Fit for Life 24 team member before handling new equipment to prevent injury, and always listen to your body.
- Get strong: The American Heart Association recommends “at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity at least five days per week” or “at least 25 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity three days per week; or a combination of moderate-and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity.” The American Heart Association also recommends that this cardiovascular workout is combined with strength training. Their recommendation is “moderate-to-high intensity muscle-strengthening activity at least two days per week.” While getting in shape for the spring and summer, be sure your fitness routine includes strength and cardio for best results for body and heart health.
