We would like to start this Fit for Life 24 post this week by thanking all of our brave military veterans that have made the USA safe and free for all of us. God bless those who have served; those who are serving now, and for all of our brave military who have lost their lives.
We wanted to share some ideas about supplementation since I have been asked a lot of questions of late regarding protein and fat burners. It is always important to get proteins from our food. How much protein? Keep it at less than 30 grams per meal. Our bodies cannot absorb much more than that. I don’t care how big or small you are. 30 grams is max!
It is really important for you to get protein in order to repair muscle. A good diet and a good high quality protein will help with that. Also, in reference to fat burners, should you or shouldn’t you? It really depends on what your ultimate goal is within your game plan. A good fat burner is definitely a must. Always research what might work for you before you take or buy anything. Know what ingredients are in it and how your body will react. Just because you see it in a fitness magazine doesn’t necessarily mean it has been scientifically studied or tested. A good balanced diet and exercise are always the most important factors when it comes to healthy weight loss. You can’t expect these things to change just by taking a product.
We also have an awesome recipe for our readership and friends who love to eat the “good stuff”! Here it is from one of our clients.
No Bake Energy Bites– This recipe will make about 18-20 bites
- 1 C oatmeal
- 1/2 C peanut butter (or other nut butter)
- 1/3 C honey
- 1 C coconut flakes
- 1/2 C ground flaxseed
- 1 C good quality vanilla or chocolate protein
- 1/2 C mini choc chips (or Karob chips)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Mix and chill 1/2 hour
Roll into balls. Will store in the refrigerator for 1 week…
